O'Neill-Carter Nuptials

Major Samantha Carter became the bride of currently Colonel, but soon to be promoted to Brigadier General Jack O'Neill, both of Stargate Command, both based in Cheyenne Mountain. The bride wore a full-length off-the-shoulder number of ivory satin and Alencon lace and a finger-length veil decorated with Air Force wings and crowned with a winged tiara of diamonds and pearls, while the groom wore his dress blue uniform (or whatever it is the Air Force calls they're formal uniform). As Maj. Carter-O'Neill's father Jacob was on assignment for the Tok'ra and simply couldn't get back to Earth for the wedding, the bride was given away by General George Hammond, commander of the Stargate Program. Teal'c of Chulak served as Best Man, Maj. Dr. Janet Fraiser was maid of honor, with Cassandra Fraiser serving as bridesmaid.

The happy couple, who will take a honeymoon tour of the galaxy, delighted friends and well-wishers by announcing plans to adopt Dr. Daniel Jackson as their son, thus providing the handsome and brilliant archaeologist (BS, University of Pennsylvania; MS, University of Chicago; PhD (Anthropology/Egyptology and Linquistics, Oxford University [I don't know, I just made that bit up] with the stable home environment he has always craved after so many years (only a lifetime) of tragedy and insecurity, following the death of his parents in 1973 and the kidnapping, impregnation, and death of his wife over a three-year-period, not to mention a number of unfortunate relationships with females of the opposite sex, all precipitated by the return of Colonel O'Neill to the Planet Abydos in the first place back in 1997, actually in the second place, as O'Neill and Jackson had originally visited the planet in 1994 when they caused the untimely but not unwarranted demise of that Vile Creature Ra, false and dead god.
